Horseback Riding at Forrestel
The horseback riding program at Forrestel gives campers a firm foundation in a variety of equestrian disciplines including working on the flat, dressage, and jumping. Flat work and dressage lessons focus on schooling the horses, transitions, working on outlines, riders position, and leg yielding. Jumping hones riders' position, striding, rhythm, and impulsion as well as imparting technique, straightness, and balance for horse and rider together.
During our two week summer riding camp sessions, riders take everything they've learned and put their abilities to the test in Pony Games each Saturday. Campers and horses are divided into teams who compete in walk, trot and lead, bending, relay, bobbing for apples, sack races, musical rides, skipping, and more.
